- Reading Grade: 6A – A sophisticated appreciation of the lingustic, stylistic, generic and historical context of the play. You challenged yourself to source your own examples and make original points, and in doing so made it clear that your understanding was deep and subtle. Be careful not to make claims about Shakespeare that you are not certain of – like his tendency to use a narrator or refer to the theme of fate.
- Writing Grade: 5A – Well structured, with lapses in style and mechanical accuracy. There is a high level of demand in analytical writing to use standard English forms. While your use of idiom (such as “peaking out”) was vivid and denoted your enthusiasm, it was also jarring in the context of a formal analysis.
